Description

Brand New Polished Power Steering Pump Pulley with 6 Rib Serpentine for Saginaw Keyway Pumps. This Pulley is produced by Billet Specialties Inc. (Part #FM1030PC).

This pulley is for use with:

  • Saginaw Type 1 power steering pump that accepts a keyway pulley
    • These Type 1 pumps were made to accept 2 different pulleys:
      • A keyway pulley: with this version, the pump shaft has a rectangle key that drives the pulley and threads on the end for a nut to screw on to hold the pulley on; if your pump shaft has a key and threads, then you have the keyway version and this is the version that this particular Billet Specialties pulley will fit.
      • A press-on pulley: with this version, the pump shaft is smooth and the pulley is very tightly pressed on; that press-fit holds the pulley on, as well as drives the pulley. if this is the pump that you have, we do have the pulley that will fit it here.
      • You can see examples of both of these pumps below, as well as an example of the Saginaw Type 2 pump, which will not work with this pulley
    • This Type 1 keyway pump was the power steering pump on almost all of the following applications:
      • 1968-1974 AMC
      • 1963-1974 GM passenger cars, and full-size Chevy cars as early as 1961
      • 1963-1974 Chevy and GMC light-duty trucks
      • Some 1965-1974 Chrysler vehicles
      • Some 1972-1974 Ford cars
      • Some 1972-1974 IHC trucks
      • Some 1972-1974 Jeeps
      • Among many others

Features:

  • 6" Diameter
  • Polished, mirror finish
  • Designed for use with 6-Rib Serpentine belt

Billet Specialties power steering pulleys are CNC machined from forged 6061-T6 aluminum for the ultimate in strength and balance. Designed for use with 6 rib serpentine style belts, each pulley is polished to a mirror finish.

WHY USE A BILLET PULLEY?:

The benefit of a billet aluminum pulley over a cast pulley is equal density. With a cast pulley, the aluminum is poured into a mold and then allowed to cool. This process can create variations in density throughout the pulley. Dense areas are heavier than the more porous areas causing the pulley to vibrate at high RPM. Billet Specialties' pulleys are equally dense throughout; equal weight translates to a true and balanced pulley drive system.
